Martyn JosephPassionate Spiritual Singer Songwriter |

Just when you think you've got a handle on singer songwriters, along comes Martyn Joseph to blow the myth away..... There's nothing predictable about a Joseph gig – only that it could make you laugh, cry, get you thinking, leave you reeling. An acoustic artist with an electrifying spontaneity, this colossally gifted and gracious Welshman has five Top 50 hits to his name (including Dolphins Make Me Cry and Please Sir) and has been in demand on both sides of the Atlantic for over two decades. Touring both solo and with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Art Garfunkel and Jools Holland he has won fans everywhere with his uncanny melting pot of material which ranges from rock to blues, jazz, Americana and even, "funk folk"! A mean guitar player with a powerful voice, Bob Harris has praised the "outstanding lyrical intelligence" of his songs while he was voted Best Male Artist in the BBC Welsh Music Awards. Like his acclaimed new album that subtly deconstructs some of his best-loved numbers (a 4*MOJO album of the month), Joseph has "evolved" into a consistently mesmerising performer. Shades of Springsteen, Knopfler and Dave Matthews there may be - but Joseph is unique and no two shows are ever the same. He has an enviable high level connectivity with his audience whether it's an arts centre in his native Wales or a 5,000 strong crowd at the Royal Albert Hall. His gigs are like taking a rollercoaster ride with a chameleon as he dips and dives between mighty and meek songs, railing against the broken promise playground of global leaders, throwing in some wry humour, holding tight to common man anthems and then "disarming" for unexpectedly fragile love songs that can knock you sideways. It might be just another evening when you go in to a Martyn Joseph concert – but it certainly won't be when you come out..... New album Evolved "A courageously sparse, stripped down and entirely solo work" – MOJO "Britain's best kept secret…..a challenging songwriter and compelling and courageous live performer – MOJO "Songs of social commentary as much as love, with a rootsy sensibility" – Time Out "A depth, resonance and emotional punch which belies comparison" – Q "One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today" –Tom Robinson, BBC 6 |

Tilbrook shows have the feel of a big rock concert. Enjoy a terrific atmosphere, great crowd, a few pints and lots of good humour. He is highly entertaining and crams loads of songs into the set including Squeeze classics and yes, he may sing your song, if you ask him. Glenn has been singing, playing and writing songs for many years. Squeeze have recorded 13 albums to date and many, many singles - most of which have been hits of some kind: some very big, some very small. More than this, however, Glenn Tilbrook and Squeeze have become synonymous with a particularly London oriented style of high quality pop song that bears comparison with the classic songs of Ray Davies and The Kinks - not to mention more recent contenders such as Blur and Supergrass. The first hit single, "Take Me I'm Yours", came in 1978 and was followed by a steady stream of hits, many of which have passed into the canon of pop folklore and will surely be sung in pub singalongs as long as pub singalongs exist. Outside of Squeeze, Glenn has played and sung on records by Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann and on Mark Knopfler's solo album. Songs he has co-written with Chris Difford have been covered by the likes of Sting, Joe Cocker and Grandmaster Flash. |

M3 'classic Whitesnake Live'
Fantastic Rock Billing Featuring members of Whitesnake
and other Great Rock Acts.

Micky Moody (Whitesnake...) Neil Murray (Whitesnake...) Stefan Beggren (Company Of Snakes) Jimmy Copley (Paul Rodgers, Beck, Gillan) Mark Stanway (Magnum) |

For a huge army of fans around the world, the classic line-up of Whitesnake which
recorded albums such as 'Ready An' Willing', 'Live
In The Heart Of The City' and 'Come An' Get
it' was the definitive rock band of the late 70s and early 80s.
There is something unique about the combination of musicians who built Whitesnake's success
that cannot be replicated, and the songs that they wrote and recorded together
are still incredibly popular. The bluesy twin guitars of Bernie Marsden and Micky
Moody, together with bassist Neil Murray, are back
together in a new band, M3 - Classic Whitesnake, to perform
the songs that took Whitesnake to the stadiums of the world.
They are joined by well known guest musicians, including the incredible vocals
of Stefan Bergrren, best known for his work with Company of
Snakes and Snakes in Paradise, Jimmy Copley on drums from Paul
Rodger's and Tony Iommi's band and on keyboards Mark Stanway (Magnum,
Grand Slam) among others. Rock anthems like 'Ain't No love
In The Heart Of The City', 'Here I Go Again', 'Don't
Break My Heart Again' and 'Fool For Your Loving' are
just some of the many classic Whitesnake songs that M3
- Classic Whitesnake perform, with full audience participation expected!
The concept behind M3 is to build on the foundations of the
original Whitesnake members by experimenting with other top
players, including guest appearances from other early contributors to the Whitesnake story
(they were joined on stage by Don Airey in London, earlier this year). The touring
band consists of: Bernie Marsden (guitar/vocals) was a founder
member of Whitesnake but his career also includes stints with UFO, Wild Turkey,
Cozy Powell, Babe Ruth, PAL, Alaska, Moody Marsden, and recently the Company
of Snakes. He has done song writing, production and session work for many acts,
and outside of M3 Bernie leads his blues band, Big Boy Blue.
Micky Moody (guitar/vocals)is best known for his role in the definitive Whitesnake line-up, though his vast and varied career has included working with Juicy Lucy, Snafu, Graham Bonnet, Frankie Miller, Chris Farlowe, Roger Chapman, Moody Marsden Band and Company of Snakes. Neil Murray was also an original member of Whitesnake, playing on 8 albums and many tours, and is one of the most experienced bass guitarists in rock, recording and touring with bands and musicians such as Brian May, Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Company of Snakes and Peter Green just to mention a few. He also is in the band for the hit musical We Will Rock You. Stefan Bergrren (vocals) was the awesome voice of Company of Snakes and Snakes in Paradise during the late 90s. Stefan has been compared with iconic vocalists such as Paul Rogers. Jimmy Copley (drums) is a fantastically powerful and funky drummer who is best known for touring and recording with artists such as Paul Rodgers, Tony Iommi, Ian Gillan and Jeff Beck. In the words of Bernie, "Jimmy drives the band like no other drummer since Cozy Powell or Ian Paice. He is exceptional." Mark Stanway is the keyboard backbone to long established prog-rockers, Magnum and during the 1980's he regularly topped 'best keyboardist' polls, coming third to the likes of Jon Lord and Don Airey. Listen to M3 live with your eyes closed and you would be forgiven for believing you were listening to Jon Lord and Ian Paice on stage with the M3 boys! M3 will also be promoting a forthcoming live DVD recorded in the summer of 2004, featuring both Stefan and Doogie White (ex-Rainbow singer) on vocals. This an an existing live album will be available from the bands website. Do you have iTunes? Then Click here for a preview :: |

Renowned for an action-packed pyrothechnic-fuelled explosion of a show, Limehouse Lizzy continue to keep the spirit of Celtic rock icon Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy alive, well and dominating stages worldwide. Attention to detail, playful audience interaction and that all important X-factor that leaves you with the feeling of witnessing the real thing have led to their performance being described as "beyond tribute", by both audience and critics alike. Following the enormous success of their ˜Live & Dangerous" & ˜Dedication" tours, the band embarked upon their "Into the Limelight" 2008 tour to tie in with their appearance on an episode of BBC2’s ‘Arena’ documentary series of the same name. The tour travelled as far as a headline slot at the Rhodes Rock festival in Greece, and the Virgin Atlantic Music festival in Barbados. The band appeared alongside diverse world music acts, and played a Thin Lizzy set representing the celtic rock genre. Their latest tour continues to explore and celebrate the artistic and musical legacy of the hard-living, hard-rocking, yet at times surprisingly tender and romantic artist that was Philip Lynott. Expect more of the Celtic influenced tracks like "Whisky in the Jar" and "Black Rose", amongst the usual razzamatazz and classic tracks "The Boys are Back in Town", "Sarah" and many others we’ve come to expect from one of the most highly rated acts on the circuit. "Limehouse Lizzy's Wayne Ellis, an uncanny ringer for Phil Lynott..." |

Genesis were arguably the most layered and complex definers of the progressive rock sound. So recreating their sound as accurately as possible is a big challenge. G2 likes a challenge and this project continues to stretch them in all areas. What is their Ultimate Aim? To provide the audience with the real deal; to deliver the music as accurately as possible, but with live energy. To recreate the visual atmospherics - the 'goose pimple effect'. To deliver a magical evening of Genesis music that levels the floor for one and all. |

Today with the passing of Rick Wright in 2008 there will sadly never be the reunion that we all hoped for, but the music is timeless and will live on for many more years to come. How many 60's bands today are still attracting new and often young fans 40 years on? Today, there are many bands trying to emulate this music, the most outstanding by far being Perfect Alibi - the definitive Pink Floyd tribute. With the incredible guitar sounds of Dave Blake, the stunning vocals of Rick Gauntlett, and the excellent musicianship of all members of the band, Perfect Alibi are now widely respected and appreciated in their field, giving the audience a truly authentic reproduction of the music of Pink Floyd. With the emphasis on capturing the live Pink Floyd sound and with well over 40 songs in their repertoire, spectacular lighting/lasers/projections, this is a show not to be missed! But don't take our word for it... judge for yourselves. You won't be disapppointed! |

Silver BeatlesThe brook becomes The Cavern for another night of early Beatles |

The Daily Telegraph. There seems to be two different methods employed by tribute bands in copying their heroes. One is to immerse themselves totally in character, become the band. The other is to still do this, but do it with tongue very much in cheek. So how to interpret the greatest pop group of all time? The Silver Beatles go for option B, not taking themselves too seriously and this approach definitely works for them. They indulge in banter among themselves and with the crowd, making the most out of the fact that every Beatle is instantly recognisable. The first half of the gig is the young Beatles, suits and mop tops, covering all the early hits; 'Saw her standing there, Can't buy me love' among others before finishing on 'Twist and Shout'. Then it's a quick break and costume change where they miraculously transform into the older, hippie era Beatles; the period where they wrote some of their finest songs. Just point non-believers to songs like 'In my life' and 'Let it be' which show, more so than the early years, why the Beatles are still held in such esteem. Not that anyone here needed convincing. The 500 plus crowd, arms held aloft, nah-nah-nah-ing during the encore of 'Hey Jude'. Nope, no non-believers were present. Review by Thomas Christie |

The
debut SAS album features artists who collectively have appeared on many
(many) number one hit songs, including:
Chris Thompson, Tony Hadley, Kiki Dee, Roger Chapman, Roger
Taylor, and Madeline Bell. Featured musicians include Ian Anderson, John
Deacon, Peter Green, Cozy Powell, Jamie Moses & Charlie Morgan.
Tracks were recorded at Black Barn Studios in Ripley over
a two year period, where the complex process of melding the prolific array
of talent into an album was finally completed in April 1998.
The album is based on a 'half original/half cover' format.
Originals include the writers version of Chris Thompson's classic composition
'You're the voice', already a hit for John Farnham, and 'Original sin'. Covers
include epic arrangements of classic songs like 'That's the way god planned
it', 'The Name of the Game', and 'Didn't I blow your mind this time.'

The single comes with a new track 'How To Turn Down Work' along

There is also the first 2 instalments of the Kid Carpet pop
quiz. The Kid has recorded miniature versions of some of his favourite
pop and metal tunes in his own inimitable style on toy instruments that
cost about £2. The first two instalments are included here as b-sides
with further tracks to be made available on his website. The winner of
the competition will win 'a crap prize'.
Both heroes have a deep history in
a variety of genres, sharing influences from Miles Davis to Bob Marley
to The Clash, and both now share the same landlord. For various reasons
the duo found themselves sharing a flat together at the turn of 2005
and after many late night conversations, lengthy musical debates and
story-telling sessions, the duo that had now become good friends decided
it was only right to combine their two studios. The short move from
each other's respected bedrooms to the 'the lounge' took place and a
new production partnership was born. It was quick, natural and 'felt
right' and the next ten months have taken them to the brink of breaking
through.

LIMEHOUSE LIZZY - THE GREATEST HITS OF PHIL LYNOTT & THIN LIZZY
G2. Definitive Genesis performed live, perfectly and with passion. The seed of G2 can be traced back to 1997 and they truly capture the sound, energy and atmosphere of Genesis with fervour and sincere feeling. This is an incredible tribute.
You have got to be a little mad (some would say insane) about music to create a tribute band like this.
Most of you are aware of the psychedelic phenomenon that was born in the late 60's, the inspirational chaos that was to become the typically British and well documented sensation Pink Floyd. They have sold over 210 million albums worldwide with titles such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.
Around 1990, Dave Blake (lead guitar) and Rick Gauntlett (guitar & vocals) formed Perfect Alibi. Back then they were playing covers of classic rock songs by Pink Floyd, Marillion, Eagles, Neil Young and more. Being huge fans themselves and from the reaction of the audiences, more and more Floyd songs crept their way in to the set until it got difficult to mix other material in. Realising this a concert was staged in a theatre as a tester and Perfect Alibi emerged as a totally dedicated Pink Floyd tribute.
"...Cover bands are big business these days, but this quartet are clearly a cut above most with suits, mop-tops and jerking stage manoeuvres all in place as they blast out 'From Me To You', 'Roll Over Beethoven' and 'Please, Please Me' with note-perfect aplomb."
Mick Slacker & Co's tounge in cheek tribute act just gets better and better.
"2 tonic arrived on stage and lifted the atmosphere up a few more notches until at one stage it seemed as though every person in the room was dancing at the same time. Even the people stood around the edges seemed to be bouncing up and down, whether they wanted to or not. Humberside seismic investigators later recorded a disturbance registering 3.2 on the Richter scale."
The Queens perform a show packed with the hits, anthems and live favourites from the world's most majestic rock 'n' roll band. With great attention to detail, they bring you the look, sound, raw energy and showmanship of Queens' most memorable live gigs, faithfully recreating highlights of their Live Killers Tour '79, Montreal '81, Milton Keynes Bowl '82 and Wembley '86.
Time
to dance the night away with the band who make every gig a party night!
Those that have followed the band will know that the Rufus Stone Soul Band, based in their home town of Southampton, has been around in many guises since their start in late 1984. After all this time you would expect that some of the sparkle would have gone, not a bit. They still have the same distinctive sound, which ensures that they get the maximum involvement from their audience.
