The World's Only Official Live Tribute Band To Marc Bolan & T.Rex CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF MARC BOLAN'S 65TH BIRTHDAY &
T.Rextasy have now been gigging around the world for 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc's very own T.Rex. The band are now accepted as the world's only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan's family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan's catalogue management. Due to their passion, musical ability, longevity, and attention to detail, they are consistently described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute'. They have, with their ‘Marc Bolan' doppelganger lead singer/lead guitarist, Danielz, signed with Columbia Records, Madman Records, and Liberation DVD, won the accolade of ‘Best Live Tribute Band in the UK on BBC1, and performed at the original Billy Elliot premiere party, filmed for ‘Arena' on BBC TV. Over the years they have toured around the world from Europe to Japan and have performed at many Arena venues in the UK (such as Wembley Arena, and Birmingham's NEC). They have played alongside many of the 1970s original contemporaries such as Wizzard, Cockney Rebel, Slade, Sweet, and Ian Hunter, to name a few. In September 2007 they played to 40,000 at the BBC Proms Night at London's Hyde Park, and later headlined their own sell-out concert at the Shepherds Bush Empire with their special guests including Marc Almond (Soft Cell), Gloria Jones (Marc's girlfriend songwriter/singer), and Shakin' Stevens. The band have also accepted invitations from ex-members of T.Rex such as Mickey Finn (original percussionist), Marc's son Rolan Bolan, and Bowie/Bolan producer Tony Visconti, to play alongside them in past special anniversary concerts. Dino Dines (original keyboardist), a long serving member of T.Rex even joined T.Rextasy and remained with them until sadly passing away a few years ago…the list goes on… Expect T.Rextasy to play all of Bolan's biggest hits, such as ‘Ride a White Swan', ‘Jeepster', ‘Telegram Sam', ‘New York City', ‘Debora', ‘Teenage Dream', ‘Hot Love', ‘20th Century Boy', ‘The Groover', ‘I Love To Boogie', ‘Get It On', and of course ‘Telegram Sam', ‘Metal Guru', and ‘Children of the Revolution'. The band plays totally live without the aid of any backing tracks, recreating the music, performance and excitement of those heady and outrageous times of glam rock. Truly a rock'n'roll concert for all ages - if you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this gig is for you! T.Rextasy – awarded the accolade of ‘The Best Live Tribute Band in the UK' by BBC1 TV. ‘They're the closest you're ever going to get to the real thing' ‘T.Rextasy are the tribute act who break all the rules by being bloody brilliant. Danielz is an exact replica of Marc, he's uncanny. ‘Danielz is a curator of Bolan's life, a perfectionist protector of the legacy – T.Rextasy play with a poignant, flamboyant skill.' "Danielz looks and sounds uncannily like Bolan and has dedicated his life to the man" – The Times "Danielz is more than a career lookalike. Here we have a serious guitarist with the animal grace of early Bolan and the clear unequivocal love of the music" "Danielz just freaks me out!" |

The Bon Jovi Experience are the worlds first and finest tribute to the Great Bon Jovi and features Jon Bon Jovi clone frontman Tony, (Jon By Jovi), accompanying him are 3 other ex By Jovi members, namely Jon (Tico) drums, Rob (Hugh) bass and Chris (Dave) keyboards, having left the now Defunked By Jovi. With Edd, (top Richie Sambora Guitarist,) in place, together they produce the looks and sounds of the real thing so closely that, i quote: "you could almost be fooled into thinking that this band was the real thing" and "quite simply a mirror image of the man himself". Tony has been performing the music of Bon Jovi for over ten years now and the band were the first to be asked to perform on the Us New Jersey Tribute Album, "Garden State Of Mind". He is the Only Uk Bon Jovi tribute band frontman to actually be asked to Appear On Channel 4's Big Breakfast Show with the real Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora but was unable to do so due to committment to shows already booked in The Middle East. They were told recently by Radio 1 Dj and tv personality Chris Evans that "they were the best tribute band he had ever seen" and have also been asked to appear live on Chris's show in the future. the band has a significant fan base not to mention Tonys various tv and film appearance's, (itv's International Stars & Their Doubles hosted by Dale Winton, bbc's doctors series and british Film Kinky Boots.). Tony recently attended a couple of Bon Jovi shows himself and was actually mobbed when he was mistaken for the real Jon Bon Jovi by hundreds of screaming Bon Jovi fans and official photographer's asking for autographs and pictures. Chad Kroeger, frontman with Bon Jovi's guest band Nickelback, even picked Tony from the forty thousand strong crowd and said, i quote, "have you seen this guy he's that much like Jon Bon Jovi its freaky man" then had his own photographer take pictures of him, as a result Tony has been the topic of conversation on the official Bon Jovi website from people asking who he was, an honour that no other Bon Jovi tribute band frontman has ever gained. Then, on monday 13th november 2006, tony and the band recieved the ultimate accolade when they were requested by Bon Jovi to perfom live at the hard rock cafe in london for the celebrations surrounding Bon Jovi's induction into The Uk Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame. During this performance Jon Bon Jovi himself joined Tony and the band on the stage and performed the song 'Who Say's You Can't Go Home.' to the delight of the sell-out 'backstage with Jon Bon Jovi' fanclub audience of die hard fans. yet another honour that no other Bon Jovi tribute band has ever received… from touring all over the world, (every major city & town in the uk,The Channel Islands, Malta, Holland, Spain, Ireland and the very first Bon Jovi tribute to tour the Middle East to name but a few!) The band have seen many sell out shows with wild reactions from the crowds and with a full tour schedule, the boys are no strangers to living the rock n roll dream. so if you enjoy stadium rock at its best this is definatley a band not to be missed. |

Beth Nielsen Chapman
Truly, Beth Nielsen Chapman has become one of the pre-eminent singer/songwriters of her generation. Her music shows up regularly not only at the top of the charts, but on television (ER, Dawson's Creek, Providence, Felicity) and in movie soundtracks, including "The Prince of Egypt, "Message In A Bottle", "The Rookie", "Where The Heart Is" and "Practical Magic". Mega-hit "This Kiss", ASCAP'S 1999 Song Of The Year, sung by Faith Hill (co-written with Annie Roboff and Robin Lerner), garnered her a Grammy nomination. That same year Beth was chosen as Nashville NAMMY'S Songwriter of the Year and was inducted into The Alabama Music Hall Of Fame. Beth's songs have been covered by a wide selection of artists including Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Neil Diamond, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Ute Lempter and many more. As an artist, Beth has released five albums, four of which were on Warner Brother's records including her groundbreaking "Sand & Water" album, written and recorded following the death of her husband from cancer in 1994. This record is often used as a tool for healing through grief, and the song "Sand & Water" was performed by Elton John on his 1997 U.S. tour in place of "Candle In The Wind" to honor the memory of Princess Diana. As Beth toured during the release of "Sand & Water" she often taught workshops on creativity and working through grief. In addition, Beth has also taught songwriting at Berklee College in Boston as well as in various workshops across the US. Just as she was putting the finishing touches on her subsequent release "Deeper Still" (to which John Prine, Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Kimmie Rhodes and Andy Bey all contributed background vocals) Beth was diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer. Successfully treated over the next twelve months, she went on to release the record and made it a point to speak about her experience and encourage women to be vigilant in caring for their health. The UK release of "Deeper Still" on Sanctuary Records was voted "Album Of The Year" by BBC2's Terry Wogan. "Look" Beth's latest release in the UK and Europe has topped the charts since it's release in May and marks a new turning point in a life touched by both great happiness and great sorrow, and just as sadness and love shape a soul as surely as sand and water shape the earth, we see this artist's heart emerge strong, happy and still tender. The new release "Hymns" is an important milestone in the journey of Beth as an artist. A project which has been her intention to complete for many years is finally going out into the world. Here is what Beth has to say about this amazing collection of songs: "I was raised in a Catholic family and the beautiful melodies on the enclosed CD Hymns, sung mostly in Latin, were the "hit parade" for all of us born before Vatican II. I came to record this CD while I was in the midst of recording a different CD of World Hymns, each in a different language and from a different religion. During that process, I was having trouble making up my mind which Latin hymn I would choose to include. When I searched for a collection of my favorite Latin hymns I couldn't find one anywhere. That's when I decided it might be a good idea to go deep into the roots of my own spiritual beginnings as part of the journey of recording all these other hymns from around the world. This detour has taken me the better part of a year, and has made my Mama very happy! Here, in these songs, are the roots of my spiritual journey. They center me, even while I have come to believe that faith is something beyond the boundaries of any one religion. The stories and teachings of my childhood have certainly shaped my way of feeling connected to this light. But I feel that someone of the Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, or any other faith, has just as much a right to define and to celebrate, from each of their perspectives, the beauty and sureness of the love of God. I have for a long time wanted to use my voice like a thread winding through all these languages and melodies. Some of these melodies are very old, some new with ancient text. I've tried to be conscious of choosing lyrics that speak of devotion and faith whose meanings do not seek to separate or condemn any other voice of devotion. World Hymns will be completed early in 2005. Meanwhile I'm enclosing Hymns, a collection of the old favorites I grew up listening to, along with my deep wish for peace."Julie Fowlis
Following on from "mar a tha mo chridhe" (As My Heart Is), her 2005 award-winning debut, Hebridean songstress Julie Fowlis is back with the brilliant follow-up "cuilidh" – a Gaelic noun, (pronounced Kool-ee) meaning a treasury or secret hiding place for precious things. As ever the songs and tunes are shrouded in the historical folklore of her native North Uist in the Western Isles of Scotland. Julie's beautiful voice, coupled with an all star crew - including Eamon Doorley (Danú), John McCusker (Kate Rusby, Eddi Reader, Roddy Woomble, etc.), Chris Thile (Nickel Creek), Mark Kelly (Altan), John Doyle (ex - Solas) and Donald Shaw (Capercaillie) - all combine to create another spellbinding selection of traditional material gathered by Julie from the tradition-bearers of her homeland. CUILIDH promises to push Julie, and the Gaelic culture she represents, way beyond the wild shores of the Outer Hebrides. Julie Fowlis burst onto the wider music scene in 2006 when she became the first ever Scottish Gaelic singer to win a prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Award. Since winning the Horizon Award for best newcomer, she has won the hearts of audiences around the globe, played every major folk festival in Britain, showcased in Texas and New York, and is in constant demand as a performer of Gaelic music. Julie's natural charm, humour and animated story telling have become almost as appealing as her "heart-melting vocals" (Scotsman). Her first English tour in 2006 proved a huge success and 2007 promises to be yet another adventure with the release of her eagerly awaited follow-up album "CUILIDH". A true pioneer, Julie has helped to take Gaelic music from specialist to more mainstream BBC radio throughout the UK and beyond. A mere eight months after winning Best Newcomer Julie was nominated for Singer of the Year 2007 at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards |

Gunz N' Rozes are: Frontman GARRY CROWLEY's appearance on T.V.'s "Stars In Their Eyes", won so much acclaim that he was asked back to appear on the show's Christmas Special. He also performed vocals on N-Trance's recording of the Guns N' Roses classic "Paradise City". N.G.P. (Rhythm). NGP's energetic impersonation of IZZY STRADLIN's stage performance and guitar work, makes his physical resemblance a bonus. He also does much of the backing vocals, always spot on. SNAKE (Bass). Snake's hard edged bass style cuts through with punk attitude allowing his impression of DUFF McKAGAN to be uncannily accurate. STEVE HARCOURT (Drums). Recreates MATT SORUM's drumming with unswerving confidence. He is a drummer experienced in many techniques whose love lies in heavier styles. JOE HARCOURT (Lead Guitar). His performance as lead guitarist SLASH is simply superb, all of his classic riffs and solos are recreated note for note, and Joe's physical appearance is remarkably similar to Slash. All the classic tracks including "Paradise City", "You Could Be Mine", "Sweet Child O' Mine", "Welcome to the Jungle", etc, etc, are performed by the band along with many other songs from the albums, "Appetite for Destruction", "G N' R Lies", and "Use Your Illusion I and II". |

This is the second EVER Aim live show in Southampton - definitely one not to miss - the last one sold out!! Like 'The K&D Sessions' and 'Smoker's Delight', almost everyone seems to have copies of Aim's first two albums 'Cold Water Music' and 'Hinterland' in their collections. And now it's time to clear space for a third because you're guaranteed to still be listening to 'Flight 602' for years to come. In fact, richly-detailed as those other records are Andy Turner's new album makes them sound almost flimsy in comparison so lush and layered have his productions become. Whether it's the pastoral ballad 'It's Later Than You Think', the hair-raisingly gorgeous tracks with singer Niko like 'Aberdeen' or the beautiful instumental interludes the whole album shimmers with a million points of light like a musical constellation. 5 out of 5 DJ Magazine Vol.4/no 23 |

Martin Turner's Wishbone AshAn evening of classic Wishbone Ash Music |
£ |
9.00 |
In a move which is certain to delight Wishbone Ash aficionados and fans of classic rock music in general, 2008/09 sees Martin Turner revisiting Wishbone Ash's classic 1972 album Argus. Generally revered as one of the definitive albums of the rock era, Argus won 'Album of the Year' awards in celebrated UK music papers Sounds and Melody Maker and was one the best selling UK albums of 1972. As the lead vocalist, bassist and principal song-writing force behind Argus, Martin Turner is delighted to be able to bring his creation to life once more and, in addition to the release of Argus: Through The Looking Glass, a stunning fresh interpretation of Wishbone Ash's most critically and commercially successful work, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash will be making worldwide concert appearances throughout 2008/09, with the centre-piece of the live show being a performance of the complete Argus album - the first time this rock masterpiece has been performed live in its entirety. The Argus tour follows Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash's highly successful and acclaimed period of UK and European touring throughout 2006/07 to promote their two-part live album New Live Dates. During the Argus concerts, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash will perform a two-part set and, prior to the complete performance of Argus, the band will perform a varied selection of material from other classic Wishbone Ash albums. Martin Turner describes working with his current band line-up of Ray Hatfield (guitar/vocals), Danny Willson (guitar/vocals) and Dave Wagstaffe (drums/vocals) as "an extremely rewarding experience on both a musical and personal level, with a positive vibe not unlike the early days of Wishbone Ash. Collectively we have had a great time revisiting many of the classics from the vintage days of Wishbone Ash, recreating the essence of many songs, some of which have hardly ever been performed live, and reminding us all of the diversity contained in the Wishbone Ash back catalogue. I am confident that we have compiled a show that will please all true Wishbone connoisseurs." Martin Turner's return to the live stage has clearly delighted the Wishbone Ash fanbase: "Martin was in fantastic form! This band surpassed everyone's hopes and expectations. The twin harmonies were spot on." |

The band were fronted by the much admired duo of Thijs van Leer on the Hammond organ/flute and Jan Akkerman on the guitar. Their hit potential came in the form of a couple of instrumentals, "Hocus Pocus", "House of the King", and "Sylvia", but we shouldn't forget their timeless albums "Moving Waves", "Focus 3" and "Hamburger Concerto". But like all good things, it couldn't last and internal wrangling ended this legendary group. After an initial careful comeback which resulted in a well received album "Focus 8", the band are now back on the frontline, with a fantastic line-up! Of course the founder member and musical genius Thijs van Leer is still holding the fort. Also back in his old spot is Pierre van der Linden, the drummer who is internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, and who was and still is a defining factor in the whole Focus sound. Together with Bobby Jacobs who stems from a well acclaimed Dutch jazz family, they are responsible for the rhythm section and that unmistakable Focus groove. The talented Niels van der Steenhoven, who without any shadow of a doubt can hit the mark when it comes to the guitar completes the band's line-up. A new Focus era has arrived. There is a rejuvenated passion in the new compositions, that adorn the new album "Focus 9 / New Skin", which has been released on the famous Red Bullet label of Willem van Kooten. This album -and the following gigs- will surprise the loyal fans. They will hear once again all the classic Focus tunes and they will be surprised at the strength and depth of the new material. "Our music is evolution, not revolution", Thijs van Leer once said about the music of Focus. Well now, the evolution is at full pace. Thijs van Leer - Hammond-orgel, flute and vocals |

Acoustic artist Martyn Joseph? Not just what it says on the tin. Another guitar laden singer songwriter he may be, but in these transient times where musicians have a seemingly inevitable disposability, the longevity of Martyn's thirty year career suggests he has something special to offer, and indeed he most definitely does. For the first time in fifteen years, the "Under Lemonade Skies" UK tour earlier this year saw Martyn Joseph joined onstage by a live band. Following the success of this tour Martyn has chosen to include some Band performances in the forthcoming Autumn tour, and as The Brook is one of Martyn's favourite venues in the Uk, he's looking forward to them joining him onstage at the show. A Martyn Joseph Band gig is something very special. There's all the passion and polish of Martyn's solo gigs but bassist Andrew Coughlan and drummer Mason Neely (both stalwarts of the Cerys Matthews Band) add a whole new dimension with their superb yet sensitive playing enhancing Martyn's performance but leaving him all the space he needs. Furthermore, Martyn clearly enjoys sharing the stage with the other two musicians, so a Martyn Joseph Band gig is not only musically uplifting, but enormous fun too! Often likened to musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer and Bruce Cockburn, Martyn's come a long way since the days when Epic signed him after he sold 30,000 copies of his self-financed album ‘An Aching and A Longing'. He continues to tour extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, building up a constantly expanding and enthusiastic fan base, bringing to their towns what many have described as ‘the best musical experience of their lives.' There is versatility to Martyn's music that is hard to categorise. Many have tried, resulting in labels such as Folk, Rock, Soul, Folk Funk and Americana; all of which somehow miss the mark. But sometimes music doesn't need a defining genre. Martyn's music and social commentary manage to empower and speak for many. Built around memories and observations alike, his work is inspired by all that's good in the world and also that with which society often falls short. Martyn Joseph. A unique talent driven by passion and love for his trade, he continues to write, sing and play from the heart. It's a road he's been travelling for most of his life and as he often tells his audience; ‘you keep turning up and so will I.' Just when you think you've got a handle on singer songwriters, along comes Martyn Joseph to blow the myth away..... In a year that marks 31 years in the business, Martyn proves that there's nothing predictable about his gigs – only that they can make you laugh, cry, get you thinking, leave you reeling. An acoustic artist with an electrifying spontaneity, this colossally gifted and gracious Welshman has five Top 50 hits to his name (including Dolphins Make Me Cry and Please Sir) and has been in demand on both sides of the Atlantic for over two decades. Touring both solo and with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Art Garfunkel and Jools Holland he has won fans everywhere with his uncanny melting pot of material which ranges from rock to blues, jazz, Americana and even, "funk folk"! A mean guitar player with a powerful voice, Bob Harris has praised the "outstanding lyrical intelligence" of his songs while he was voted Best Male Artist in the BBC Welsh Music Awards. Shades of Springsteen, John Mayer and Bruce Cockburn there may be - but Joseph is unique and no two shows are ever the same. He has an enviable high level connectivity with his audience whether it's an arts centre in his native Wales or a 5,000 strong crowd at the Royal Albert Hall. His gigs are like taking a rollercoaster ride with a chameleon as he dips and dives between mighty and meek songs, railing against the broken promise playground of global leaders, throwing in some wry humour, holding tight to common man anthems and then "disarming" for unexpectedly fragile love songs that can knock you sideways. It might be just another evening when you go in to a Martyn Joseph concert – but it certainly won't be when you come out..... "Britain's best kept secret…..a challenging songwriter and compelling and courageous live performer – MOJO "He is one of our most intelligent writers. He gets better and better like the finest of wines" - Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2 "Songs of social commentary as much as love, with a rootsy sensibility" – Time Out "A depth, resonance and emotional punch which belies comparison" – Q "One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today" –Tom Robinson, BBC 6 |

The members of the band are all session musicians who have worked with many top names in the industry including Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Don Airy (Deep Purple), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow), Doogie White (Rainbow), Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody (Whitesnake) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake) to name but a few. The Purple Project represents something much more than just a look-a-like 'tribute' act. As massive fans themselves, they tribute the music of Deep Purple and not the personnel - Clearly the fans agree that the focus should always be on the music and not simply 'dressing-up' to look the part. Behind each live performance lies a deeper understanding of the structure and motivation for the musical arrangements - and of course a shared passion for recreating and experiencing the unbelievable power and intensity of Deep Purple in full flight! The show mirrors the legendary concerts of Deep Purple with a running time of over two hours, with songs picked from the extensive album and single back catalogue, and includes classic live favourites such as 'Hush', 'Burn' and of course 'Smoke on the Water'! On 16 September 1977 the world lost one of it's most original, flamboyant and charismatic rock'n'roll stars. Marc Bolan's life was cut short after that fateful early morning car accident which would end his life - he was still only 29 years old. Although Bolan released many successful singles and albums throughout the 1970s, two songs epitomise Bolan's status as the ‘King of Glam' – ‘Telegram Sam' (which sold 500,000 copies within the first two days of release), and ‘Metal Guru', both of which were included on the iconic album in 1972 called ‘The Slider'. Later in the year, on 8 September 1972, one of his most memorable and distinctive records that would inspire future generations was also released, entitled ‘Children of the Revolution'. 40 years on, the song has become legendary, along with the name Marc Bolan….
Chapman's musical eclecticism found its roots in her childhood. The middle child of five in an Air Force family, she moved six times before she reached adolescence. At that time she started playing guitar and piano and writing songs. During her developmental years, Chapman was drawn to the compositional richness of greats like Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, and George and Ira Gershwin. She memorized songs from Broadway musicals as well as soaking up the sounds of everything from Stevie Wonder, Sting and Joni Mitchell to Ella, Paul Simon and The Beatles and honed her skills as a performer in small clubs throughout Alabama and the South.
"For those of us who don't speak the language, Julie's records are like beautiful messages from another world. As enchanting, beguiling, and fascinating as songs by Kate Bush and Bjork." MARK RADCLIFFE, BBC RADIO 2
