The music of Kate Bush played by...The Hounds of Love"Absolutely one of the best Kate covers I have ever heard!!!" |
This is a group of dedicated musicians fronted by vocalist Josie Mills who love and appreciate the work of Kate Bush, her compositions always elevated to a heart felt live performance. See the Hounds of Love band live and you'll never experience a pastiche or cabaret act, they're more of a deal to inspire anyone to reach out for the original recordings that deservedly span generations of music lovers. Josie Mills, singer, comes from York. Singing a pop song is one big step away from singing the diverse musical styles and athletic range demanded in performing a Kate Bush song. Without attempting to emulate the sound of Kate Bush, Josie finds the expression to communicate the songs of Kate Bush with impressive passionate sympathy. What people have said about The Hounds of Love Band on YouTube Seriously, is there anything I can say? I feel like I keep repeating myself saying how amazing your voice is and how awesome the whole band is! WOW! Maybe you should cover that Kate song? This is just so beautiful, can't wait to see the band live. Very talented people.xxx I just love Josie's voice, but the group as a whole are "on song" for me. Man, that singer`s got an awesome voice! Really good control, hitting all those notes spot on. It`s also kinda ballsy and rock n` roll, which I like. Kate`s one of the best singers ever as far as i`m concerned so if someone can actually cover her stuff this well - then hats off to ya`ll! It's like Judie Tzuke does Kate Bush. Nice cover. Beautiful x x x Very good. I'm half way through watching this cover of one of my all-time favorite Kate Bush songs, and I haven't cringed. P.s Nice bloody moves! Josie & band WOW! This cover is amazing, you are brave for choosing this song. It turned out Spectacular and I cannot wait to hear more! Your voice is amazing! What a fantastic cover! I am a huge fan of Kate Bush and this is by far one of the best covers I have heard here on youtube! Awesome job! Great voice! Absolutely one of the best Kate covers I have ever heard!!! A STAR IS BORN, GOOD ON YOU JOSIE, Love it!!! |

The Purple ProjectBack by Popular DemandThese boys do Deep Purple like no one else well except Deep Purple obviously.
The members of the band are all session musicians who have worked with many top names in the industry including Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Don Airy (Deep Purple), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow), Doogie White (Rainbow), Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody (Whitesnake) and Neil Murray (Whitesnake) to name but a few. The Purple Project represents something much more than just a look-a-like 'tribute' act. As massive fans themselves, they tribute the music of Deep Purple and not the personnel - Clearly the fans agree that the focus should always be on the music and not simply 'dressing-up' to look the part. Behind each live performance lies a deeper understanding of the structure and motivation for the musical arrangements - and of course a shared passion for recreating and experiencing the unbelievable power and intensity of Deep Purple in full flight! The show mirrors the legendary concerts of Deep Purple with a running time of over two hours, with songs picked from the extensive album and single back catalogue, and includes classic live favourites such as 'Hush', 'Burn' and of course 'Smoke on the Water'! A Flock of Seagulls first self titled, full length album was released in 1982. The band initially had trouble making any radio play headway with the single "I Ran". That is, until MTV began playing the now famous video for the song. Initially charting in July of 1982, a Flock of Seagull's "I Ran" took a long time to reach the Billboard Top 10. The song finally peaked at No. 9 for a couple of weeks near the end of October 1982. The album also reached the Top 10, selling over 500,000 copies. A Flock of Seagulls had a decent follow-up hit to "I Ran", called "A Space Aged Love Song." The song reached the Top 30 in February of 1983. A Flock of Seagulls follow-up album "Listen" was released in the Spring of 1983. The single "Wishing" was released as the band's single for radio play. While the song stalled low in the U.S. Top 30, it became the only Flock of Seagulls song to chart in the U.K. Following a handful of highly successful reformation gigs in the states they decided to once more take to the road it what might be the last chance to catch them live! Catch them this September @ The Brook |

Bee Gees FeverGibbs, Gibbs, Gibbs...You can tell by the way they use their walk they are the disco kings
Since 1999 Bee Gees Fever have been wowing audiences across the UK and Europe with their stunning live tribute to the music of the Brothers Gibb.
From the soulful ballads Too Much Heaven and How Deep Is Your Love through to the high energy disco classics such as Stayin' Alive and Night Fever, the band faithfully recreate the songs that have helped make the Bee Gees musical legends over the last four decades. With a full show of over 2 hours, there is something for everyone from every era of the Bee Gees glittering career, and create a striking visual tribute too as they pay tribute to the 'Saturday Night Fever' image of the late 70's.
Unlike some tribute acts, all the songs are performed totally live, no backing tapes or sequences, just five guys, their voices and their instruments. This gives the show a raw energy which will get even the most reserved feet up on the dancefloor.

Silver BeatlesSouthampton's Finest Our very own fab four return to their very own 'Cavern Club'. |
The Daily Telegraph. There seems to be two different methods employed by tribute bands in copying their heroes. One is to immerse themselves totally in character, become the band. The other is to still do this, but do it with tongue very much in cheek. So how to interpret the greatest pop group of all time? The Silver Beatles go for option B, not taking themselves too seriously and this approach definitely works for them. They indulge in banter among themselves and with the crowd, making the most out of the fact that every Beatle is instantly recognisable. The first half of the gig is the young Beatles, suits and mop tops, covering all the early hits; 'Saw her standing there, Can't buy me love' among others before finishing on 'Twist and Shout'. Then it's a quick break and costume change where they miraculously transform into the older, hippie era Beatles; the period where they wrote some of their finest songs. Just point non-believers to songs like 'In my life' and 'Let it be' which show, more so than the early years, why the Beatles are still held in such esteem. Not that anyone here needed convincing. The 500 plus crowd, arms held aloft, nah-nah-nah-ing during the encore of 'Hey Jude'. Nope, no non-believers were present. Review by Thomas Christie |

Fleetwood BacBac Again!(Fleetwood Mac Tribute) |
The band returned in 2001 with their best line-up yet, and in the last 2 years the response has been amazing. Rave reviews in 'The Stage', The Fireflies and Go Your Own Way (the U.K.s leading Fleetwood Mac fansites); an endorsement from The Nicks Fix (the official Stevie Nicks website); and ecstatic audiences wherever the band played, including wowing an audience of 10,000 at the H.O.G. festival in St. Tropez, and very successful recent shows in the Cayman Islands. The band has also recently been rated by The Times as one of the U.K.'s leading tributes, alongside The Bootleg Beatles, Bjorn Again and the Counterfeit Stones. The sound, the look, the mystical atmosphere and on-stage chemistry are all portrayed with the passion and energy that got the seal of approval from 'Big Daddy' Mick, and built up an excellent reputation amongst Mac fans through numerous tours, festival appearances, corporate events and TV and radio slots all over the U.K. and Europe. Fans include original Mac bassist and biographer Bob Brunning, who has joined the band several times on stage for great versions of 'Need Your Love So Bad', and Peter Green's official biographer Martin Celmins. The Fleetwood Bac show focuses on the Stevie Nicks/ Lindsey Buckingham/ Christine McVie 'Rumours' era of the band (still the 5th biggest-selling album of all time). It also features several songs from the Peter Green days, plus some of Stevie's biggest solo hits, in a theatrical two-hour show, including costume-changes and an acoustic section. Songs featured include: Dreams, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, Tusk, Gypsy, Everywhere, Oh Well, Rhiannon, Little Lies, Black Magic Woman, Seven Wonders, Say You Love Me, Big Love, Oh Diane, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, Albatross, Sara, Man Of The World, Hold Me, Green Manalishi and Need Your Love So Bad. Fleetwood Mac fans are also raving about seeing and hearing favourites like: Gold Dust Woman, The Chain, 2nd Hand News, Silver Springs, I'm So Afraid, Songbird, Sisters Of The Moon, Isn't It Midnight, Leather And Lace, Oh Daddy, Monday Morning, Landslide, I Don't Want To Know, Beautiful Child, Over My Head, Never Going Back Again, World Turning, Blue Letter, Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, Eyes Of The World etc. |

John Gordillo
“Back on the circuit after a few years’ hiatus, John Gordillo remains a refreshing performer, with a canon of intelligent, provocative material. He picks away obliquely and relentlessly at his subjects to find fresh jokes, taking comedy away from tried-and-tested formula into more unexpected terrain - yet always aware that cleverness comes a clear second to funniness" Chortle ‘One of our finest stand ups” -- Evening Standard 'A show so good one can almost forgive the dreadful title.' **** Evening Standard Mark Olver

T-RextasyBuy Them Early - They Always Go!(Note - No support band as advertised on some publicity - oops!)Voted UK's Best Tribute Act by the BBC.
About as close to the music of T-Rex as you're likely to get. Usually sells out so get em early of you want to go. |
With a career spanning over 17 years, T.Rextasy are now regarded beyond the boundaries of ‘tribute’ and are respected in their own right. They are also the only band to have the blessing and support from Marc’s own family and Ex-T.Rex band members, including June Bolan (Marc’s wife), Gloria Jones (Marc’s Girlfriend), Rolan Bolan (Marc’s Son), Mickey Finn (T.Rex conga player), Tony Visconti (T.Rex producer), and others They have toured worldwide playing at venues such as the gigantic Ariake Coliseum in Japan, and Wembley Arena in London. They also perform alongside artists such as Wizzard, Cockney Rebel, Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople), and Slade amongst others. In September 2007 T.Rextasy played to 40,000 at BBC Proms Night at London’s Hyde Park, and headlined at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London where special guests appeared alongside them including Marc Almond (Soft Cell), Gloria Jones, Shakin’ Stevens, and Tony Visconti. A DVD of the concert is now officially available. ‘They’re the closest you’re ever going to get to the real thing’ ‘T.Rextasy are a great tribute to my Dad. They have my support 100% - Rolan Bolan (Marc’s son) ‘T.Rextasy have my utmost approval and I wish them well’ - Gloria Jones (Marc’s girlfriend and Mother to Rolan Bolan) ‘T.Rextasy play a wonderful replica of Marc’s music and recreate his songs so authentically – Steve Harley (Cockney Rebel) ‘T.Rextasy are the tribute act who break all the rules by being bloody brilliant. Danielz is an exact replica of Marc, he’s uncanny. ‘Danielz is a curator of Bolan’s life, a perfectionist protector of the legacy – T.Rextasy play with a poignant, flamboyant skill.’ ‘The lead singer not only sounds like Marc Bolan but is an unnerving physical reincarnation. They play with a passion that lifts their performance above imitation’ ‘T.Rextasy’s impeccably worked routine must have spooked the parade who came to pay tribute.’ ‘This is the most fitting tribute band I have ever come across.’ ‘This bore the hallmarks of a real Bolan gig. Responsibility for celebrating Bolan’s memory couldn’t be in better hands.’ |

Martyn Joseph"The Welsh Springsteen"Shades of Springsteen, Rea and Knopfler there may be - but Martyn Joseph is a performer like no other. Powerful voice and 'outstanding lyrical intelligence' - Bob Harris - Radio 2 |
Just when you think you've got a handle on singer songwriters, along comes Martyn Joseph to blow the myth away..... There's nothing predictable about a Joseph gig – only that it could make you laugh, cry, get you thinking, leave you reeling. An acoustic artist with an electrifying spontaneity, this colossally gifted and gracious Welshman has five Top 50 hits to his name (including Dolphins Make Me Cry and Please Sir) and has been in demand on both sides of the Atlantic for over two decades. Touring both solo and with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Art Garfunkel and Jools Holland he has won fans everywhere with his uncanny melting pot of material which ranges from rock to blues, jazz, Americana and even, "funk folk"! A mean guitar player with a powerful voice, Bob Harris has praised the "outstanding lyrical intelligence" of his songs while he was voted Best Male Artist in the BBC Welsh Music Awards. Like his acclaimed new album that subtly deconstructs some of his best-loved numbers (a 4*MOJO album of the month), Joseph has "evolved" into a consistently mesmerising performer. Shades of Springsteen, Knopfler and Dave Matthews there may be - but Joseph is unique and no two shows are ever the same. He has an enviable high level connectivity with his audience whether it's an arts centre in his native Wales or a 5,000 strong crowd at the Royal Albert Hall. His gigs are like taking a rollercoaster ride with a chameleon as he dips and dives between mighty and meek songs, railing against the broken promise playground of global leaders, throwing in some wry humour, holding tight to common man anthems and then "disarming" for unexpectedly fragile love songs that can knock you sideways. It might be just another evening when you go in to a Martyn Joseph concert – but it certainly won't be when you come out..... New album Evolved "A courageously sparse, stripped down and entirely solo work" – MOJO "Britain's best kept secret…..a challenging songwriter and compelling and courageous live performer – MOJO "Songs of social commentary as much as love, with a rootsy sensibility" – Time Out "A depth, resonance and emotional punch which belies comparison" – Q "One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today" –Tom Robinson, BBC 6 |

The Hounds of Love Band
represent all that is honest about performing great music.
'The Purple Project' represents the talents of some of the finest musicians working on the live circuit today:
A Flock of Seagulls achieved noteriety with the video for their song "I Ran" which showcased the lead singer Mike Score's one of a kind hairdo. To this day they remain firmly identified with the song, and the early days of MTV in the 80's.
Mick Slacker & Co's tounge in cheek tribute act just gets better and better.
"...Cover bands are big business these days, but this quartet are clearly a cut above most with suits, mop-tops and jerking stage manoeuvres all in place as they blast out 'From Me To You', 'Roll Over Beethoven' and 'Please, Please Me' with note-perfect aplomb."
FLEETWOOD BAC are the world's first and best Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, and raved about by Peter Green's biographer, the only Mac tribute band to authentically replicate the classic Stevie/Lindsey/Christine/John/Mick 'Rumours' line-up.
John Gordillo has appeared on "Best of the Comedy Store" (C5/Paramount). He has recently returned to stand up after a 6 year break, during which time he hosted & co-created two series of a nightly talk show for BBC 3 ("The RDA with John Gordillo") and directed any number of live comedy & theatre shows, two of which were nominated for the Perrier.
