| + Support | The Summers |
At the Convention in Holland, ADRIAN SMITH was there to do a signing. The band asked if he would guest on a couple of songs and he agreed. Because he had to leave early to catch a flight, he couldn't stay around till show time. So they all agreed to do an inpromptu performance in the afternoon for the fans. Adrian (Smith), Nicko and HI-ON MAIDEN powered their way through THE WICKER MAN and 2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT. To top it all off, there was a real treat instore at the last show in Portugal……STEVE HARRIS was there!!! He stayed to watch the whole show and even got up in the encore to perform FOUR songs. He allowed Speed to use his checker board bass, and Steve Harris used Speed's. The crowd went mad as STEVE HARRIS, NICKO MCBRAIN and the whole of HI-ON MAIDEN rocked them with THE WICKER MAN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME, WRATHCHILD and 2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT. |

The DamnedLegendary Psychedelic Punk GroupThe Damned are a punk/goth band formed in London, England in 1976. They were the first British punk band to release a single ("New Rose"), put out an album (Damned Damned Damned), and tour the United States. They are considered one of the founders of gothic rock. (Wikepidia)

33 years on, and the rush of witnessing a Damned live show is still comparable to that first buzz of energy released at some long forgotten sweat box of youth. A series of inspired, ambitious albums and amazing live shows combining full-on rock energy, stylish sense of performance, and humorous deadpan cool are not necessarily what anyone would have thought when Ray Burns and Chris Millar met in 1974 when both ended up working backstage at the Croydon Fairfield Hall. Burns and Millar — more famously known in later years as guitarist/singer Captain Sensible and manic drummer Rat Scabies — kept in touch as both struggled in the stultifying mid-'70s London scene. Things picked up when Scabies talked his way into a rehearsal with London SS, the shifting lineup ground zero of U.K. punk that nearly everybody seemed to belong to at one point or another. There he met guitarist Brian James, while in a separate venture overseen by Malcolm McLaren, casting about for his own particular group to oversee, Scabies first met theatrical singer Dave Vanian, still working through his New York Dolls/Alice Cooper obsession. Vanian's own history allegedly included singing "I Love the Dead" and "Dead Babies" while working as a gravedigger, but whatever the background, he proved to be a perfect frontman. Scabies put Sensible in touch with Vanian and James and the Damned were born, with Sensible switching over to bass while James handled guitar and songwriting. Though the Sex Pistols became the most publicized of all the original London punk groups, forming and playing before everyone else, the Damned actually ended up scoring most of the firsts on its own, notably the first U.K. punk single — "New Rose" — in 1976 and the first album, Damned Damned Damned, the following year. Produced by Nick Lowe, both were clipped, direct explosions of sheer energy, sometimes rude but never less than entertaining. The group ended up sacked from the Pistols' cancellation-plagued full U.K. tour after only one show, but rebounded with a opening slot on the final T. Rex tour, while further tweaking everyone else's noses by being the first U.K. act to take punk back to America via a New York jaunt. Things started to get fairly shaky after that, however, with Lu Edmonds drafted in on second guitar and plans for the group's second album, Music for Pleasure, not succeeding as hoped for. The members wanted legendary rock burnout Syd Barrett to produce, but had to settle for his Pink Floyd bandmate Nick Mason. The indifferent results and other pressures convinced Scabies to call it a day, and while future Culture Club drummer Jon Moss was drafted in to cover, the group wrapped it up in early 1978. So, 500 shows on from Grave Disorder, and just to prove their doggedness and belief in their own relevance, the band that many wrote off 2 years after inception, have recorded yet another classic collection of tunes entitled " So, Who's Paranoid? " and are stepping out on yet another exhaustive world tour to back it up. From the jangly garage punk opener of A nation fit for heroes to the lush psychedelic tones of album closer Dark Asteroid, the Damned have come up with 13 more reasons, after 33 years, that their trademark brand of dark melodic irony, blended with caustic political satire are more relevant now than ever. "So, Who's Paranoid?" Certainly not The Damned, who have conjured up yet another collection of genre-defying anthems that sit effortlessly alongside their classic albums, their first since 2001's critically-acclaimed 'Grave Disorder' album. From the catchy, jangly garage rock opener of "A Nation Fit For Heroes" to the lushly psychedelic closing track "Dark Asteroid", The Damned masterfully affirms their legendary status. Thirty-two years on the heart of The Damned that is David Vanian and Captain Sensible beats stronger than ever, proving with "So, Who's Paranoid?" that their trademark dark, melodic beauty, tinged with jagged satire is truly timeless and very much intact. They might be a band with an incredible past but The Damned are very much here and now. |

The Bon Jovi ExperienceBrook FavouritesThe best way to enjoy American stadium rock - 6ft from the bar and ten from the stage! Bring your mum - she'll enjoy it too!
The Bon Jovi Experience are the worlds first and finest tribute to the Great Bon Jovi and features Jon Bon Jovi clone frontman Tony, (Jon By Jovi), accompanying him are 3 other ex By Jovi members, namely Jon (Tico) drums, Rob (Hugh) bass and Chris (Dave) keyboards, having left the now Defunked By Jovi. With Edd, (top Richie Sambora Guitarist,) in place, together they produce the looks and sounds of the real thing so closely that, i quote: "you could almost be fooled into thinking that this band was the real thing" and "quite simply a mirror image of the man himself". Tony has been performing the music of Bon Jovi for over ten years now and the band were the first to be asked to perform on the Us New Jersey Tribute Album, "Garden State Of Mind". He is the Only Uk Bon Jovi tribute band frontman to actually be asked to Appear On Channel 4's Big Breakfast Show with the real Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora but was unable to do so due to committment to shows already booked in The Middle East. They were told recently by Radio 1 Dj and tv personality Chris Evans that "they were the best tribute band he had ever seen" and have also been asked to appear live on Chris's show in the future. the band has a significant fan base not to mention Tonys various tv and film appearance's, (itv's International Stars & Their Doubles hosted by Dale Winton, bbc's doctors series and british Film Kinky Boots.). Tony recently attended a couple of Bon Jovi shows himself and was actually mobbed when he was mistaken for the real Jon Bon Jovi by hundreds of screaming Bon Jovi fans and official photographer's asking for autographs and pictures. Chad Kroeger, frontman with Bon Jovi's guest band Nickelback, even picked Tony from the forty thousand strong crowd and said, i quote, "have you seen this guy he's that much like Jon Bon Jovi its freaky man" then had his own photographer take pictures of him, as a result Tony has been the topic of conversation on the official Bon Jovi website from people asking who he was, an honour that no other Bon Jovi tribute band frontman has ever gained. Then, on monday 13th november 2006, tony and the band recieved the ultimate accolade when they were requested by Bon Jovi to perfom live at the hard rock cafe in london for the celebrations surrounding Bon Jovi's induction into The Uk Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame. During this performance Jon Bon Jovi himself joined Tony and the band on the stage and performed the song 'Who Say's You Can't Go Home.' to the delight of the sell-out 'backstage with Jon Bon Jovi' fanclub audience of die hard fans. yet another honour that no other Bon Jovi tribute band has ever received… from touring all over the world, (every major city & town in the uk,The Channel Islands, Malta, Holland, Spain, Ireland and the very first Bon Jovi tribute to tour the Middle East to name but a few!) The band have seen many sell out shows with wild reactions from the crowds and with a full tour schedule, the boys are no strangers to living the rock n roll dream. so if you enjoy stadium rock at its best this is definatley a band not to be missed. |

FishThe Fishheads Club Tour This summer Fish returns to the road in a very different guise after an enforced sabbatical of nearly a year.
At the end of 2008 he completed a gruelling 18 month World tour supporting his latest album "13th Star" and visited a voice specialist after encountering problems on the latter stages. A growth was found on his vocal chords and a surgical operation was recommended for its removal and to determine whether or not it was something altogether more serious. The operation was a success and thankfully the cyst that was discovered was benign. A successful return to the stage last summer was short lived as soon after complications with scar tissue meant yet another operation in December 2009. The problem was finally resolved and Fish was given a clean bill of health earlier this year and immediately started to make plans for his return to live performances, an area where he has built up a solid reputation as one of the UK's most consummate and entertaining front men. "It was an incredibly stressful time for me. The dread of not only losing my voice permanently but also the possibility of dealing with cancer made me totally revaluate my lifestyle. I quit smoking, took up hill walking and going to the gym regularly and rediscovered scuba diving with the local East Lothian dive club. I'd gone to Costa Rica in January on a holiday shortly after the second operation, and found myself trailing behind guys a lot older than me as we hiked up volcanoes and through rain forests. I decided that at 52 I had to get to grips with my life and wake up to the reality that if I wanted to continue doing this then I had to take a different approach " Fish recently completed a 96 mile charity hike up the West Highland Way in aid of Cancer Research over 7 days with 17 of his fans who joined him after responding to an offer on his web site www.the-company.com At the end of the walk Fish performed a short set in his local pub with his long term guitarist Frank Usher as a thank you to the fans who had hiked with him. "The walk was a wonderful life changing experience for us all and I would never have been able to have undertaken it a year before. Some days we walked 20 miles and every night we camped in tents under the stars. But all the while I was thinking about the gig at the end. I don't think I can remember being as nervous as I was when I stood in front of the crowd at the Tyneside tavern in Haddington. It may have been the home crowd on the home turf but I was very aware of the debut of the voice. It felt like my first gig in 81 all over again." He had already decided to take a radical approach to his return to live performances and had discussed his plans with Frank Usher and keyboard player Foss Paterson, both who had served on the "13th Star" tour and had worked with him over the years on various album projects. In June the trio begin performing as the FishHeads Club playing small venues in the UK. "I didn't want to plunge back into the formulaic pattern of write and record the next album and then tour as I wanted to find where my voice was before committing it to recording. My voice is clearer than it ever was but it needs to be built up gradually to find the strength and ranges again. I didn't want it to potentially struggle in a full electric band set up and I thought that an acoustic environment would be perfect to put it through the paces. Both Frank Usher and Foss Paterson are expert at this style of performance both having been in the late and great John Martyn's band line ups with Frank acclaimed by John as his favourite ever guitarist. The sets on the tour will be ever changing with songs being taken from throughout Fish's long career from both his extensive solo catalogue and from his years with former band Marillion. "When we were working on the keys of songs for the set list before the fan club convention at Leamington Spa last year it was only Frank, Foss and I playing the tunes. It was while we were playing we realised that some of the most unlikely numbers sounded really strong in the stripped down versions. Even material from my first solo album "Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors", which is now in it's 20th anniversary, worked really well in the three piece format and I'm sure those songs will be prominent in the FishHeads set lists" Stripped down and re examined, the versions are sure to have a radically different approach and combined with Fish's on stage anecdotes and stand up comedy routines the FishHeads Club outings in these intimate settings promise to be memorable occasions. "I decided that the FishHeads Club tour would provide a great opportunity to reinvestigate my approach to song writing by starting from bare bones of songs and building on that framework rather than depend on the studio environment and the technology as a base to create. This way we can introduce new material as the tour progresses and discover the structures, dynamics and performances before I take it into the studio environment. I discussed the idea with producer Calum Malcolm who did a great job for me on the "13th Star" album and he is excited about the ideas. It's going to be a busy year for Fish as in September he resurrects his acting career with a major role in "Electric Man", an independent film being shot in Edinburgh with director David Barras for the Strangeboat film company www.strangeboat.com "I hadn't been able to commit to any acting projects for a number of years due to extensive touring and the demands of my music career so when David contacted me I thought it was an ideal way to get back into it and at the same time work with genuine enthusiastic film makers and learn a lot more about another independent approach in a creative sphere that I would like to get more involved with in the future either as a script writer or even as a director. The flexibility offered by the acoustic touring means that I can offer myself out as an actor and be open to other projects outside music." One such project that has been ongoing for quite some while is the book "Dear Derek" described as an "autobiography and travelogue" and which he had hoped to have finished this year. "I started writing the book about a year ago soon after I got married. The substance of the book has a lot to do with relationships and how they have affected my life and shaped who I am today. Ironically while I was writing the marriage disintegrated and my wife left me just after Christmas. As they say in Scotland, my head was full of 'chocolate frogs' for quite a while and it's only in recent weeks that I have been able to resurrect the project. Obviously there are a few extra chapters now!" "Dear Derek" will hopefully be finished by the end of the year and be released around the same time as the new studio album "Feast of Consequences" |

John has had many recording contracts with major companies under different guises and has toured with David Bowie's original band of the early 70s - The Spiders From Mars - being their vocalist. John has been produced by Bowie's producer Tony Visconti in the early 80s and worked with Jarvis Cocker of Pulp and Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. He has also had a number one hit in The Lebanon in 1990. Jean Genie play all of Bowies hits in an amazing show of complete detail. John Mainwearing is without doubt the only other David Bowie on the planet, his voice is exactly the same but you don't need to close your eyes because he looks just like him too. |

Celebrating over 30 years of Blondie, and their induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, do not miss this explosive tribute!! No other female fronted band has ever beaten Blondie with their string of hits and run of success! Blondie emerged as the great pop icons of the late '70s new wave punk scene by defying easy categorisation. They scored their first major hits with reggae, rock/disco and hip-hop songs. They wrote great rock hooks and brilliant ironic lyrics. They had the hippest clothes and the coolest hair – blonde bombshell Debbie went from the pages of Punk magazine to being on the cover of just about every mainstream publication on the news stands! 2008 was the 30th Anniversary of the Fantastic Album, Parallel Lines and saw Blondie performing a World Tour including major UK Sold Out dates. Cardiff based Atomic Blondie, now also hotly tipped as one of the UK's leading Blondie Tribute bands, have performed all over the UK and Europe and has also had the pleasure of featuring on tour with the legendary 'SLADE' and 'ROY WOOD' on a regular basis, plus performances with 'SHOWADDYWADDY'!! Plus recently with Dr & The Medics and Bad Manners! Our 'Debz' has also had the pleasure of performing for top musician and member of 'Yes' RICK WAKEMAN plus an event for the cast of BBC 1's Eastenders. You do not want to miss this tribute! The show features all the classic hits including; Heart of Glass, Sunday Girl, Maria, Tide is High, Rapture, Hanging on the Telephone, Denis, Dreaming and many more including recent versions from Blondie's 'Live By Request' TV Show in the USA. A combination of great experienced top-class professional musicians and a stunning experienced professional vocalist! SIR OWEN GEE – KISS FM – "Electric!!!!!!!" Quote from: The Blondie Review (USA) - "I recently visited your Web site and must tell you that I am very impressed with the performances from you and the guys. Your vocals, Deb-style presentation, the music, the arrangements ...... everything, are most impressive and spot-on." TBR You Do No want to leave them Hanging on the Telephone!
