Rooted in natural soundscapes and highlighting the fragility of the environment, violinist and vocalist Violeta Vicci is a multi-faceted contemporary classical and electronic artist with Catalan and Swiss roots. Based in London, she draws inspiration from her deep connection to nature, using field recordings, layered strings, atmospheric vocals and immersive visuals.
She has opened for The Orb’s extensive UK tour, Marconi Union, and System7, and collaborated with artists such as Jonsi (Sigur Rós), Clint Mansell, Thom Yorke, Elbow, Fontaines DC, Jonny Greenwood, Suki Waterhouse and Bat For Lashes. Her music has received national and international radio play on BBC Radio3, BBC6 Music, RAI3, RNE, KEXP, Dublab, and Radio Hanover.
Violeta has performed at prestigious venues like The Royal Albert Hall, Paris Philharmonie, The Barbican, as well as festivals including British Summer Time, SGP, and Glastonbury.
Violeta began playing the violin at age four and gave her concert debut at fifteen. She moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music and has released three studio albums. Her debut, AUTOVIA, produced by Martin Glover ‘Youth’, bridges acoustic and electronic worlds.
Her second album, Mirror Images, was hailed by Strad Magazine as “a remarkable concept album.” Her third, Cavaglia, musically translates a pristine Swiss valley, its lakes, and glaciers.
Her release, Forest Music, co-created with film composer Ben Morales Frost, offers an imagined journey into the greenness of the forest, away from urban life.
Similarly, her live EP, Fallen Trees, is a melancholic and introspective performance from her“Live Music in Nature” series, featuring live-streamed concerts in stunning natural locations.
