Our Founder Bryn Lewis

As an established licensee in Southampton and following on from managing several successful pubs in the city, Bryn acquired The Brook in 1994 and transformed the original pub into the two tier music venue we know and love. He had a simple aim: to create a venue where people could have fun and enjoy live entertainment. Bryn conceived and generated a unique ethos and culture that will continue to live on and from which many, many people have, and will continue to, derive a lot of pleasure.
His long time friend and business partner Dylan will continue to manage The Brook with the new addition of Bryn’s eldest son, Nick, to build upon and continue his father’s legacy.
The Brook family, our customers, artists and their management miss him tremendously.
On behalf of Bryn’s family and all those associated with The Brook we would like to thank everybody very much for the enormous number of tributes that flooded in for Bryn. We were overwhelmed by the volume of responses plus how kind and supportive people were.
