The Brook is a lively, diverse and successful Independent Music Venue in Southampton. It is a large and beautiful old building full of character and charm, yet still maintaining an intimate concert space, where all who want can get up close and personal with the bands.  We boast fantastic sound thanks to the split-level layout, with superb facilities ~ the wide stage is complimented by an equally wide dance floor, both of which are overlooked by a wrap-around balcony that gives a perfect view of the performance. The Brook is for artists and customers who are lovers of this unrivalled atmosphere. It is for those who are excited by the variety of high quality music on offer, and reaches out to a local and wider community and even an international fan base. The venue has played host to a wide spectrum of artists, including Bill Wyman, Alabama 3, The Hoosiers, and the late John Martyn and more recently has welcomed onto its stage the brilliant Passenger, Jess Glynn, Rixton, Mel C, Pubic Service Broadcasting, Tom O’Dell, and Lucy Rose.

We pride ourselves on our enriched music ‘menu’ and continue to host a wealth of fantastic, Tribute acts and a steady flow of highly respected Heritage Rock Bands.

More recently, we have opened up our Beautiful Balcony Bar to host regular DJ nights, Sunday sessions with live music and street food.  Balcony Bar is available to hire for private functions, parties, ‘pop up’ events and DJ nights.

We have earned kudos with loyal customers, never disappointed by the energy, quality and enthusiasm of the bands and atmosphere. We know that all who come relish the opportunity to perform or listen to music in such a capacious yet welcoming, intimate venue.

In 2016, October Films shot a significant part of one of their episodes of Obsession at The Brook.  The first and last time anyone got shot at The Brook.  You may recognise some people in here.  It seems like we inadvertently helped the cause of the NRA! – Ah well – It was fun to do.
