About Us
The Brook improves the audience and artist experience with TW AUDiO from TW AUDiO on Vimeo.
The Brook is a lively, diverse and award-winning Independent Music Venue established since 1994 in Southampton. Long considered a favourite in the South of England. It is a large and beautiful old Victorian building full of character and charm, yet still maintaining an intimate concert space, where all who want can get up close and personal with live artists and performers. It boasts fantastic acoustics and unrivalled sight lines thanks to the split-level layout, with superb facilities ~ the wide and high stage is complimented by an equally wide main floor, both of which are overlooked by a wrap-around balcony that gives a perfect view of the performance.
The Brook is for artists and audiences who are lovers of a unique atmosphere. It is for those who are excited by the variety of high-quality music and artistry on offer, reaching out to a local and wider community and even an international fan base. The venue has played host to a wide spectrum of artists, including Bill Wyman, Alabama 3, The Hoosiers, Andrew Roachford MBE, Raghu Dixit and the late John Martyn OBE as well as comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Imran Yusuf, Simon Pegg and Andy Hamilton to name a few. More recently The Brook has welcomed onto its stage the brilliant Passenger, Jess Glynn, Rixton, Mel C, Pubic Service Broadcasting, Tom Odell, Lucy Rose, Billy Bragg, Taylor Hawkins, London Grammar and Katchafire.
Our primary focus is audience experience and satisfaction, followed closely by artist. We pride ourselves on our enriched music ‘menu’ and continue to host a wealth of fantastic, Tribute acts, a steady flow of highly respected heritage bands and established performers, as well as providing a solid platform for new aspiring artists of all genres and backgrounds.
We also work closely with local educational institutions to offer our facilities and support to students wherever we can for Workhops, Lectures and Examinations throughout each year.
We have earned kudos with loyal customers, never disappointed by the energy, quality and enthusiasm of the artists and The Brook team that works tirelessly to sustain these values. We know that all who come relish the opportunity to perform or listen to music in such a capacious yet welcoming, intimate venue.

Television
In 2016, October Films shot a significant part of one of their episodes of Obsession at The Brook. The first and last time anyone got shot at The Brook. You may recognise some people in here. It seems like we inadvertently helped the cause of the NRA! – Ah well – It was fun to do.
